Good Saturday afternoon, I've been sitting on my bed for an hour. I allocated this time from my unpopulated schedule to blog, but can't really get started and just daydream with The Morning Benders' Bedroom Covers album playing in the background.

I'll start off with some cool things to share.
Have you seen a book whereby its spine is thicker than its front and back cover combined?

This is a book of all the Wikipedia's featured articles. Compiled by Rob Matthews, a student in Brighton. What an effort, although I think it should be even thicker, I think.

This video leaps into the ranks of my all time favourite music videos. Sour's '日々の音色' (Hibi no Neiro) from 'Water Flavor EP'. I didn't know the band till this video. Vimeo said that 'the cast were selected from the actual Sour fan base, from many countries around the world. Each person and scene was filmed purely via webcam.' The planning and coordinating process must have been damn tough.

This is an ad for Olympus PEN camera. Really cool too, I have to do my own stop motion one day. Yea 'one day'. What I really love besides the video is the song, Down Below. You can download it
here
.

Hot Toys decided to pay tribute to the King of Pop and produced a set of Michael Jackson figures to commemorate on his famous Thriller music video (and in turn make use of this opportunity to make some good cash). It will launch in December with a price tag of ¥24,000.

Now that he's no longer around the world unites in acknowledging his talent and influences. But he was made the joke, the one being mocked at and called names when he's still alive. I think the contrast is very ugly. I'm not a fan, but his death and how the world reacts to it reminds
me again of the fact that we don't appreciate things/people till its gone - forever.

Two weeks ago, I got a deep cut on my thumb. I don't keep plasters and had to ask my grandma for one. This is what she gave me, which is the plain-est one already. I asked her how come she don't have any plain ones, she said "拿來騙小孩子的"...

Jing had her breakthrough!

I want to keep big dogs; Golden Retrivers, Border Collie, and Huskies. I can't now, probably will in the future but meanwhile I've been hoping that when I wake up one day Jing will transform into one. But recently my aunty brought her for a make-over hair cut, and now she looks even more like a puppy.

Several weeks ago, I walked up the hill with one of my more senior officer in camp. He's well in his 30s, quite erratic, but very well read and I'd like to think that he's a wise man with a lot of stories and lessons to share. We were talking about dreams and he lent me a book at the end of the day, Paulo Coelho's The Alchemist. I've never had any liking for books, and as much as I want to read it, I chucked it aside for weeks.

Jul 13 is the worst Monday I had this year. And the terrible start had led on to a really dull work week. Really grey. I've confirmed the fact that talking about things before getting it and before it happening jinxes it. Don't talk about it even if it seemed 99% sure.

During this bad week, I decided to pick up the book, to read as a form of distraction in camp. And I really felt better after finishing the book. The book, coincidentally, gave me a good conclusion of the mishap that happened on Monday. I can't really explain, but I don't feel that it's really a coincidence. Again like most good and bad things that happened to me before, Someone must have planned it before hand. And this time, if I'm really still going to get what I hope to achieve, He wants me to appreciate the opportunity and not take it for granted like I have in the past weeks.

Now I really know what I want, and I know that I can't rely on my luck all the time. If I want something I have to work for it. I'll remember this lesson.

Aight I know I'm sounding holy preachy and shit, but I hope at least somebody can understand this feeling. I gotta go, meeting 4x(-1) later!
